Frosted Election

Soft underbellies, and steadily dropping temperatures a week before the elections. The air was dripping with dishonesty. The fear of losing a political campaign caused people to reach new heights of grasping misrepresentation. Soon it would be over and everyone could begin adjusting to the misunderstandings of the majority. The main thing was that it was bloodless, at least at this writing. Some thought it would work better if they fought it out with knives. Maybe they had something.

Griffinisimo

Over the summer some individuals came under cover of darkness and stole the cast-iron holstein figure that lived on the stoop outside the front door. Nobody likes getting robbed but the "cowie" had been with them for a long time and seemed like such an unlikely target. One assumes the cowie is living in some young person's room, maybe painted or otherwise mutilated. So, they got a griffin to replace the cowie, since the cowie's absence had left a hole. Be sure to vote. There are plenty of voters who know less than you do.

Replaced the stolen holstein figure.

Season Surfing

The sumac turned a spectacular red for a few days, some rain, and a little more wind, then dropped its leaves. Bushes, shrubs, and trees turned into oversize floral arrangements with the changing weather. The cooler weather made the dogs suspicious about their intentions, but the chipmunks and voles were still active. Remember to vote. No matter how misguided your ideas are, you have a right to them.

Release The Hounds

Post-peak Minnesota Summer, overgrown, beginning to go dormant, but foliage behind which Basenjis could lurk. They turned into the little hunter-killers of the yard. It made their hearts beat faster, pushing a winter's growth of hair through their pelts. It was still nice...but it wouldn't be long now.
