Septemberish

The air had a chill in the morning. For those who were tired of hot weather, relief was on the way. The gardens were overgrown, and rodents of one sort or another teased the dogs with promises of excitement and raw meat. It was Minnesota, where cold weather got so cold they promoted it as a healthy element of life. Basenjis had begun to shiver as they sprouted a heavier coat. Soon the geese would pack up and head south. Otherwise, things were swell.

Pariah Dogs

It had become a chore to get the pack off the kitchen stoop. It was the default lair from which they could only be moved by a squirrel of chipmunk. A tasty vole would move them, but nobody liked to admit taking the trouble to catch a vole. Finding different ways to compose the stoop in a photograph was becoming a challenge. Still, it was a test of ingenuity. September was wonderful.

Spiked Pop

Shade with sunny holes burned through it. It was August in Minnesota. The pack met people this past week. A couple people came over during the day, besides the people Dawn met on the "walkie." Bosco was suspicious, but being the man-dog he had responsibilities. Kiko and Milla wanted to lick the new person, which was usually taken as "kissing." Actually, they wanted to know how a stranger tasted in case they were forced to eat them later.
