Wolf Moon
It was not as cold as it had been, but how much colder could it get? Barefoot, shorthaired Basenjis wasted no time taking care of business when it was below zero. By the time it got to twenty above, it was almost...pleasant. It was January, when the full moon was a Wolf Moon because wolves howled in the frozen darkness. Or, at any rate, wolves were said to have howled in the frozen darkness in January, once upon a time. It was one of those hard things for people to forget, contributing mightily to the mythology of Minnesota as god-forsaken place where only fools chose to dwell.

17 Below
It was too cold to shoot outside. Milla and Bosco went out long enough to take care of business, and, being short haired persons, begged to come back inside as soon as possible. This week's slide show is from last October, when, if memory serves, the weather was nicer. Winter is like being a forgotten sandwich left under a couch cushion to the predations of unnamed fungi. It could be worse. It could be Los Angeles.
